During a simulated Zoom video conference, the AI tool exhibited remarkable accuracy in deciphering keystrokes through the laptop’s microphone. Astonishingly, it replicated the typed characters with 93% precision, setting a new record for accuracy in this medium.
Acoustic Side-Channel Attack Unveiled
The researchers caution that this form of cyber threat, known as an “acoustic side-channel attack,” relies on the sound emitted by keystrokes. Many users remain oblivious to the fact that malicious actors could exploit this vulnerability to compromise their accounts.
